Local MEP demands investigation into Gaza humanitarian convoy deaths - Liz Lynne

West Midlands LibDem Euro MP Liz Lynne, who is a member of the European Parliament's Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council, has expressed outrage at the apparent killing and wounding of people on a boat bringing humanitarian aid to Palestinian people in the Gaza strip.

Commenting from Brussels today Liz said;

"It appears this was an appalling attack by heavily armed soldiers on a humanitarian mission in international waters, which must be condemned utterly.

"It is vital we have a full and independent inquiry into this incident as a matter of urgency and for the International community to unite against what seems to be a brutal and unjustified attack.

"I have long called for an end to the counterproductive blockade of Gaza by Israel and hope that once again a majority of MEPs will unite against this disproportionate action taken by the Israeli authorities."
