Liz Lynne is a lifelong campaigner on disabled people's rights. As an MP, she was heavily involved in the drafting of the Disability Discrimination Act. As an MEP, she is Vice President of the Disability All Party Intergroup in the European Parliament, which works closely with the European Disability Forum.

European Year of People with Disabilities 2003

In 2001, she worked in the European Parliament as the Rapporteur for the European Year of People with Disabilities 2003. In 2003, she has been working on a report calling on the UN to set up a legally binding instrument on the international rights of disabled people.
